This instrument can be programmed directly over RS232, and we have done several custom setups and measurements using this equipment. See below for more information on programming this instrument. t is a good functional and reliable unit for all the day-to-day load measurements you may need to make. Front panel user interface and menu options are straight-forward to use, with all common functions available with just a few key presses. Finding your way around the unit takes about 10 minutes if you are familiar with the operation of this kind of equipment.

Programming the CH8710B:
The RS232 protocol programming manual only exists in the Chinese language at this time. However, all the commands this machine uses are in English text format and are listed within the manual. The English names of the commands make common sense to what they do, like “load on” and “load off”, and so it quite easy to get the hang of what does what quickly.
We put together a custom testing procedure to measure results in about 1 hour, and it runs reliably every time on the machine. If you are familiar with RS232 instrument program control, you will find this machine quite straight-forward to program and control.
